Blended for milk. Most ceremonial matcha vanishes the moment you pour oat or dairy over it — AKI is built the other way round, with a sharper umami that still reads clearly through a full cup. 250 g, about 125 lattes.
Built for milk
There's a problem with making lattes from ceremonial matcha: you pay for delicacy, then drown it. Eight ounces of oat milk flattens exactly the subtleties that made the tea expensive.
AKI is blended to survive that. First and second harvest leaves, spring through summer, selected for a sharper, more assertive umami — the kind that comes through milk instead of disappearing under it. Pour it over ice with oat milk and it still tastes like matcha, not like green-tinted milk.
How it tastes
Sharp umami up front, then smooth and nutty with a clean sweetness at the end. Straight it's balanced and easy-drinking. With milk it holds its shape.
Tasting notes: sharp umami · smooth · nutty · sweet
How to make an iced matcha latte
- Sift 1 tsp of AKI into a bowl or jar.
- Add 60 ml (2 oz) of hot water at 82–88 °C and whisk until smooth and foamy.
- Fill a glass with ice and 200 ml of milk — oat holds up best.
- Pour the matcha over the top.
For a hot bowl, follow the traditional method: sift, 60 ml water at 82–88 °C, steep 60 seconds, whisk in gentle circles.

FAQ
Is AKI good enough to drink on its own? Yes. It's smooth and low in bitterness whisked with water alone. It's blended to be especially good with milk, not to be only usable with milk.
Which milk works best? Oat, by a wide margin — it foams well and its own sweetness sits nicely under matcha's umami. Whole dairy is the next best. Almond tends to be too thin and can taste chalky against matcha.
What's the difference between AKI and HARU? HARU is first harvest only, ceremonial grade, made for drinking straight. AKI blends first and second harvest for a bolder flavour that carries through milk, in a larger size at a lower price per gram. Most people who drink matcha daily keep both.
How many lattes will 250 g make? Around 125, at 2 g per serving.

Matcha FAQ
Ceremonial matcha is made from the youngest tea leaves and has a smoother, naturally sweeter taste compared to culinary grade matcha.
